When my daughter came to me and explained that she had been sexually abused, I was fearful and unsure what to do.  I was so thankful when I was able to speak with a trained professional at Help Incorporated.  They ensured me that they would be there to help every step of the way.

I feared perhaps my daughter would not disclose any details of the abuse once she was in front of a stranger rather than me.  My fears were wrong.

The staff of Help Incorporated was friendly and made us feel comfortable right away.

My daughter disclosed and is now receiving counseling at Help Incorporated.

It was nice she could get right into a counselor just a few short days after the forensic interview.

My daughter stated, "Help Incorporated has helped me through a tough time in my life.  I was very nervous to open up about the abuse but they made me feel right at home and I can tell I'm on my way to feeling like my regular self again.  If I had chosen not to disclose and to forgo counseling I feel I would not have been able to work through this awful time in my life.  I'm beginning to feel like a regular teen again and I'm not blaming myself for what happened".

We are grateful for the community having such a great place where children and teens can turn to during a horrible experience such as sexual abuse.  Help Incorporated is really a wonderful place and I'm beginning to get the daughter I knew before the abuse back in my life.  It's a great feeling knowing she is overcoming this battle, slowly but surely.
